Description

If configured as a server, CodeMeter Runtime before versions 8.41a and 9.10 issues handles per connection and relies on a cryptographically weak SID as sole authenticator. An attacker can brute-force the SID, recover another session's handle number, and read license information belonging to another handle.

Affected

Our own answer: ranges merged, affected separated from platform-only, with confidence and review flags.

8.00 ≤ v < 8.41a9.00 ≤ v < 9.106.007.008.009.00
Affected range stops below 8.41a, so it looks safe — our inference, not a vendor statement
Affected range stops below 9.10, so it looks safe — our inference, not a vendor statement
